The Warner Grand Theater combines the drama of Art Deco with the intimacy of a neighborhood theater. With care taken on every level, from the stage itself down to the door trim, the theater lives up to the name Jack Warner gave it when he opened it in 1931: the "Castle of Your Dreams." It was the South Bay's first sound-equipped movie house, and celebrities such as Barbara Stanwyck and Joan Blondell attended its premiere screening of Joe E. Brown's "Goin' Wild." Recently restored to its original splendor, the theater currently features Friday night screenings.
